Weight Loss Beyond LimitsGain Your Insights, Loose Your Weight

Welcome and I'm so glad to see you here. I would like to share some insights with you so that you can gain them and loose unwanted weight as a result.

To loose weight, it is vital that you develop yourself so that you can begin to really feel good about yourself. Grow your confidence, grow your strength, feel better about yourself and the process will be easy! Don't grow yourself and the process will be hard.

Firstly, here are a few facts around weight loss...

Most diets help people simply dehydrate by depleting water from their bodies and some while they may loose the weight, soon are back to their chubby selves. You see, weight is seldom a physical issue but most often a mental or more-so, an emotional issue. In other words, how you feel about yourself is usually at the core of weight gain. Though there is a simple, yet effective way to discover what your specific weight issues are.

The first thing you need to do is monitor your thoughts just prior to eating. Yes, it's as simple as that. Each time you eat anything, take notes (I mean that literally) about what your thoughts are. Start writing them out in bullet points and include what you ate. What you're looking for here are unconscious patterns of behavior - we're about to consciously work out what you're unconscious is thinking while eating. Here are some examples of what your notes might look like...

Discover Your Weight Patterns

Wednesday 5 January 2011

  • 7am   - Bowl of Corn Flakes and one Banana - Thinking about work and how tired I am and planning to get to bed early tonight
  • 9am   - 1/2 Block of Chocolate - Not wanting to be at work, don't like what I do for a living
  • 10am - Cup of Coffee - I wonder what's on TV tonight that worth watching, etc....
I'm sure you get the idea - while just 3 entries don't give us much of clue of what patterns are revealing themselves to us, it won't take long before we see some reasons for our (what is typically) over-eating. Just from the 3 listings what we do see is that this person does not like their job, they seem to be tired on this day and don't seem to have found their purpose. If this pattern kept showing up, then it is likely that a lack of purpose is taking their energy away and food is making up for lost energy. Then the issue really isn't weight; weight is just a by-product of a lack of energy and a lack of energy is a by-product of lack of purpose - and here's the power in this knowledge.

So what we then need to work on is answer these questions and take action on them.

Question 1: What needs to happen in order to feel good about myself?
Question 2: What is the first step to feeling good about myself?
Question 3: What is the price I am prepared to pay for taking this first step?
Question 3: When will I take that first step?

Take Action

Let's face it, if you're serious about getting back to the healthy you, then there is a price that you must pay now. Once you've worked out the mental issue and found your pattern - the next most vital step is taking a step toward changing the mental pattern or better known as your "Attitude". For instance, if you simply decided to pretend you were an Olympic Athlete you might start acting like one. Will it hurt at first? Yes, probably but if you're really willing to pay the price to get the great body, then action is the next necessary step. Of course, if you're seriously overweight, then some doctors advice might be useful here.

But lets face it. If energy is an issue here, then it is usually not only your weight that is causing the lack in energy, it is likely also the attitude around you or someone or something else outside of you. Change the attitude and then take the necessary action. If you don't know how to change your attitude - I highly recommend my book, Life Beyond Limits and you can order a copy by clicking here.

What Skills Do You Need?

The great thing about taking action is that you eventually discover that you need to build some skills. But unless you take action, you're not going to know what skills you need. Once you discover your skills deficit, find someone who can help you build those skills or at least guide you to where those skills can be found. For instance, confidence is a skill, courage is a skill, just as much as the skills you need for your career are skills. Don't let anything stop you from getting what you want from life and if you feel you have limits in this area, why not consider learning Neuro Linguistic Programming or NLP? We see so many people move to a whole new level of life after learning NLP. Find out more about our NLP courses by clicking here.

Create a System for Success

To gain success is is vital you systemise it. What do I mean by that? If for instance you have recognised that you need to move your body to loose weight, then systemise it. The questions you need to ask yourself or a personal trainer, are these.

Question 1: How much weight do I want to loose?
Question 2: When do I want to loose it? (Be realistic)
Question 3: What do I have to do in order to loose it?
Question 4: How often do I have to do (whatever it is) to achieve my goal?

Then diarise the regular activities and do it - all the while work on your inner self. Develop yourself so that you can begin to really feel good about yourself. Grow your confidence, grow your strength, feel better about yourself and the process will be easy! Don't grow yourself and the process will be hard.

To Shrink Yourself You Need to Grow Yourself

Back in the early 70's, a group of people working in the field of Psychology discovered a way to fast-track our neural development and remove many of the issues that have held us back. It was later called, Neuro Linguistic Programming or NLP.  NLP soon became fascination for large groups of people including health practitioners, scientists, entrepreneurs and is fast moving into the weight loss industry as professionals now agree that weight loss is a mind game and not a body game. Even Jenny Craig agrees, "Loosing weight is a struggle, but it is even more of a struggle without the right psychology". We see so many people move to a whole new level of life after learning NLP.
