One day during a coaching session, I was chatting with my client and said, "You're telling me that you want nothing more than to be wealthy and after all of your attempts to find wealth, still you are not?" My client immediately consulted his neurology and came up with a multitude of intelligent answers as to why wealth eluded him. He had all the answers, he was so clever in fact, that he did poverty perfectly.

So seldom, do we decide to alter our disempowering beliefs and this of course ensures that we repeat history over and over again. While we believe that to change our lives is complicated, difficult, impossible – we shall never change or find complicated, difficult, impossible ways to do so. You see, while we hold onto a belief, our ego will ensure we are right, no matter how debilitating the conclusion, no matter how disempowering our beliefs. And if a light globe went off for you just then, you've made my day – or maybe yours.

While we aim to be right, we are so often wrong. My client wanted wealth but invested in his beliefs about his situation that did nothing but continue his run of poor financial luck. To move him from this debilitating belief, we had to shift his thinking first, and finally his beliefs about his poor ability to create wealth. Upon achieving this he not only felt better about his life, but within 2 months, he also doubled his income. Soon he also broadened his knowledge of wealth creation to continue its flow. It is true, that until we are prepared to accept being completely wrong about our thoughts on wealth, we will not find a way to bring it into our reality. Now there's a word – REALITY.

Reality – hmmm. Getting real is apparently what we are all aiming to get. It is suggested that we must get real about our current situation, which is to accept what is. Well I say this is absolute rubbish! Particularly when we are looking to change or improve our lives. While we accept our situation, we chose to remain the same, we get real. Though I must agree with Einstein here when he said, "Reality is an illusion, albeit a very persistent one." We keep doing the same things and getting the same results, but at least these results seem real to us.

If you chose to improve your wealth, then get unreal. Fantasise; imagine, dream, play, act. Cary Grant once said, "I acted like Cary Grant for so long that I became him." This should provide a clue as to the state that you must move into first, before wealth comes your way. Act like you're a billionaire! Now if you're a good actor, you might even learn a bit about wealth along the way. So as you accept the part of the actor who is playing the game of wealth, I would like to ask you these vital questions.

Now that you ARE PLAYING THE PART OF A WEALTHY PERSON...

  1. How do you now walk, talk and act?
  2. How do you feel about what you do to create your wealth?
  3. What do you think about money?
  4. What is the difference between money and wealth?
  5. Why is it that you no longer worry about money?
  6. Why is it that you have become financially literate?
  7. What will you do with your time to grow your wealth?
  8. If you came across an extra $1,000 what would you do with this?

Finding wealth is choosing to become wealthy in your mind first and act so your body begins to believe it's true. This will have you attune your 'Reticular Activating System' (one of your mind's filters) to sort for wealth. This will have you seeing opportunities for wealth to grow as well as attracting them to you. If you are able to become so convincing of your wealthy position, then wealth will find you, or you will find it.
